No More Jacked Up Folk

Now there are some things
That I say in this song
That are pretty tough
But don’t get me wrong

If some of what I say
Is true about you
Don’t feel condemned
Cause I’ve been there too

My struggles with looks
Popularity and sex
Were once so bad
They made my life a wreck

But out of his love
God rescued me
He transformed my life
And set me free

Now that is not to say
I am perfect, at all
Cause every day or so
I take another fall

I still find myself
In need of correction
But I know my life is headed
In the right direction

So listen to my words
And don’t feel judged
I share them with you
From a heart of love

You are my sisters and brothers
You don’t need to change
To be cool with me
I won’t think you’re strange

But you’re too valuable
In God’s sight
For me to hold back words
That might change your life

Just open your heart
You’ll feel something new
When you discover
God’s love for you

In Jesus name, we don’t need no more jacked up folk.
In Jesus name, we don’t need no more jacked up folk.

Let me start out this rap
With a verse for the ladies
The words are from my heart
And Jesus Christ will aid me

To teach the truth in love
And transform your mind
So take your poor self images
And leave them all behind

It makes me wanna cry
When I see how much time
You spend on your bodies
So that you can look fine

Searching for attention
And affection from guys
Or popularity
So that you can be fly

Sitting at the table
You’re hungry as can be
But instead of having dinner
You snack on celery

Or salad or tofu
Or something fat free
Not because you wanna be healthy
But to shrink your body

Forget about your size
Twelve, six or two
God didn’t mess up
When he created you

Before you were born
He knew you by name
He saw your unformed body
And created your frame

You are fearfully
And wonderfully made
In God’s own image
So never be afraid

To look like you do
And be who you are
You’re a beautiful masterpiece
A shining star

In Jesus name, we don’t need no more jacked up folk.
In Jesus name, we don’t need no more jacked up folk.

Now that my sisters
Have heard the truth
Brothers, listen
I’ve got some for you

I cannot believe
That you spend so much time
Working to satisfy
Your sexual drive

[Edited Verse]
Hours on the internet
Looking at obscenities
Sexual relations
Without a ring, its killing me

[Unedited Verse]
Internet pornography
And masturbation
Blow jobs, hand jobs
And sexual relations

Friends with benefits
Is just a name
For no commitment
And a players game

[Edited Verse]
In exchange for her body
You give her some affection
If you really love her
Then make a true connection

[Unedited Verse]
In exchange for her body
You give her some affection
You don’t really love her
You just have an erection

[Edited Verse]
Don’t shoot for the hook-up
That’s just a set-up
For emotional disaster
You oughta get fed up

[Unedited Verse]
So you set up a hook up
To get up and pet up
To get your rocks off
But you oughta be fed up

Cause you don’t become a man
On the day you have sex
Your value isn’t measured
By the size of your pecks

Six-pack or no pack
God doesn’t care
Don’t base your self-image
On the style of your hair

You’re a man of God
Created by his hands
To be strong and brave
And to take a stand

For what is right
And pure and true
So be secure
Knowing God loves you
