We met in our junior year of college at UCLA. We were both a part of InterVarsity Bruin Christian Fellowship. We got to know each other as we hung out with mutual friends over cream soda. Initially, we were each drawn to the other’s personality. We found ourselves talking a lot and soon even found ourselves spending more time one-on-one. After spending New Year’s away from each other, Grant resolved to ask Shannon out as soon as he got back to school. We started dating on January 11th, 2008 and our relationship has grown us each in ways we never expected. About a year later, Grant proposed in a beautiful redwood grove in the Santa Cruz mountains. We feel a deep commitment to each other based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Each of us recognize marriage as the biggest step of faith in God of our lives. |
