Jesus Came for the “Bad Guys”¶

As part of Mission Year, I’ll be a part-time volunteer (32 hours/week) with the Georgia Justice Project. I’ll be working as Prisoner Support Advocate under a full-time Social Worker. It’ll be my first experience with anything outside engineering. It’s even my first experience in an office.

Part of the initial shock of Mission Year was the term “prisoner” support advocate… I’ve always thought of people in prisons as “bad” people… unworthy of support and advocacy.

But God came for us while we were still sinners… convicted under the law. And Jesus is our advocate.
