An epidemic is raging against the poor in the developing world. A basic, effective vaccine exists—a vaccine that protects us in our own communities every day. The epidemic? Violence. The cure is local law enforcement— and the poor simply don’t receive it. Without the basic protection that law enforcement provides, children and families will continue to suffer and even die as common, everyday violence runs unchecked in their communities.
