Themes¶
- Representative government – the pigs institute themselves in the position of power. Napoleon outs Snowball and assumes control of the military with the dogs.
- Private property – the pigs take and distribute as they please. The chickens are not entitled to the eggs they produce, just as under Man.
- Education – only the pigs become educated.
- Civil liberties – the animals are not permitted to sing Beasts of England.
- Propaganda – Difficulty of the animals to realize that life is getting worse.
